Summer, yes summer is here! Time for a perfect beach dress

Temperatures are FINALLY consistently in the 20s and more – it took a while, but summer seems finally to be here!  For about 5 weeks now I’ve been waiting patiently for the temps to warm up so I could take pictures of the perfect holiday beach dress I received from Kaleidescope, but even a trip to the Alps over June half term yielded nothing but a week of rain!

Over the last couple of weeks however, someone on high finally forgave us for Brexit (please don’t get me started!), and  gave summer permission to come to the UK by the middle of July.  Better late than never!

Beach dress

We recently had our garden redone, and this bright green wall brings back memories of the place we always stay in when we go back to Tobago for holidays – check out my post about our last Tobago holiday here.

I love wearing dresses, and when not in yoga pants (which is most often!) a pair of Daisy Dukes or a dress are my go-to options to throw on for warm weather.  This maxi dress has a handkerchief hem, and on a taller person (I’m 5’1″) would hit mid shin.  The dress is a size 10, and although I usually wear a 6 or 8, I like the fall of a slightly looser fit.  The straps are also adjustable which is useful.  I love the length and the softness of the fabric, and most of all – it passed the spinability test with flying colours!  Yes, I am still a child at heart, and I love a spinny dress!

Sandals from Les Tropeziennes (similar here), and gold cardigan from Warehouse, so long ago it MUST be vintage by now! (similar here).  If you don’t own a gold cardi, get one now!  It must be the piece I pull out most often for day or night.

And while the summer is here, get your beach dress out and get as much wear out of it as possible – beach not obligatory!
